This picture almost made me cry. It took me back to my childhood. I was about 6 years old and remember my parents taking me to Mr. Q. NOT McDonalds; Mr. Q was IT, the BEST burgers ever!! I also remember going as a teen to El Charro Drive Inn where the Pep Boys store is now located. I remember going with all my family members (full car load for one price) and saw Charlton Heston in a marathon of "Planet of the Apes" first version (about 5 movies). The Mary Carter store, if I remember correctly was a paint store. Thanks for the memories.
They have this photo in an exhibit at the Brownsville Historical Association and it was for sale. It brought back so many wonderful childhood memories, that I bought it! :-)
Thank you for showing love and support for the Brownsville Heritage Museum and our history. People may not realize those photos will be available until August 31st so please share the info and this post. :)
