Early 1920s Postcards ~ E Elizabeth and 10th St

Courthouse on left at E Elizabeth St was built c1888 by architect Samuel W. Brooks who is Brownsville's most influential architect from that era to today.  We'll put together a list with photos of his still extant buildings later maybe.  That's Jim Well's property on the right.  He was a biggtime powerful judge who controlled politics.  He was a Democrat.  Anyway, I guess he closed 10th St or something....
Brook's building was torn down and replaced with the Federal Courthouse building in 1933.  The Majestic Theater was built on the lot across the street in 1949.  That Kress ghost sign is still visible today.
