The Report on LNG in Brownsville, Texas we didn't get to see

Stephanie Herwick was interviewed by Action 4 News reporter Analise Ortiz.  I think Analise rushed over to Santa Rosa for another story immediately after this one.  The Brownsville Herald also ran a story to let us know how great LNG is and how they were there to "provide facts" and was also good enough to include a quote at end of article by activist Jim Chapman, of the Lower Rio Grande Sierra Club and organization of which Ms Herwick is a volunteer.

Inside there were plenty of people from Brownsville Independent School District and several police officers outside in the hall just in case things got out of hand.  Tables were set up with representatives answering questions about concerns the public may have.  I wanted to know how many jobs the LNG plant would produce.  Here's what their "Economic Benefits" brochure stated:  "Average 600 jobs over a 3+ year period" and "80 well paying permanent positions... $70,000 a year" and "... once the plant is operational 140 permanent jobs indirect induced jobs."  But not to worry Brownsville, there are four more companies to follow if this company is approved by the FEDC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commssion).

Not sure how many of these concerned citizens are from Brownsville but there were plenty inside getting food.

We're not sure why KGBT Action 4 News didn't run the story.  Instead, KGBT ran Ms Ortiz's story about the suspicious death of an 80-year old man in Santa Rosa.

Stephanie Herick in addition to answering questions on the  SAVE RGV from LNG Facebook page also admins the "Valley Green Space" blog with information updated regularly:

Here's an interview with Jim Chapman that KRGV Ch 5 News broadcast  instead:
