2011 ~ Trifecta in the Old City Cemetery

Back in March of 2011 I met with three photographers to explore the cemetery for a fabulous photo shoot.  On that particular day there was a fire which spread out of control in Matamoros landfill.  Brownsville firefighters volunteered to assist them as it may have presented a hazardous risk to surrounding communities on both sides of the river border.  I lamented the conditions of the sky being overtaken with bilious smoke which blanketed the natural sunlight which is the best source of illumination when taking photos but the three:  Carlos Nunez, Matias Alvarado and Eddie Sanchez ended up taking some spectacular photos under these unnatural conditions.  We shared these photos on our Facebook page but they were eventually wiped out with many other "folders" of photographic compilations.  It gives us pleasure to present a small sampling of their work once again!

Many of us from Brownsville, Texas have more roots planted deeper in that cemetery than all the trees growing there
