2017 - Cinco de Mayo is Rey Alaniz Day on Bronsbil Estacion

Bronsbil Estacion dedicates this Cinco de Mayo to Reynaldo Alaniz who was present the day the Majestic Theater opened on August 17th, 1949.  As "Engineer" it was Rey's duty to maintain the smooth operation of the theater so if something broke down and had to be repaired he was the "Jack of all trades" who would be called on to handle any task.

Before the grand opening of the Majestic Theater Reynaldo served in the United States Navy on the frigate USS Tangier which served in the Pacific after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

Rey was there when it all began in 1949.  His wife Frances also worked the the concession stand.  His hard work and dedication to family set the example for many who now honor him as the patriarch of the family who appreciate his sense of humor and respectful attitude toward others.  Thanks to his daughter Rose Canneto for giving us a special reason to celebrate the love and life of Reynaldo Alaniz, a true Brownsville native and honorable veteran of World War II.
