Late 1940s corner of E Elizabeth and 10th St
The Brownsville Herald on September 6, 1950 printed several pages to welcome five new establishments downtown which opened simultaneously in a new building next to Sears Roebuck & Co. building. Looking at corner of E Elizabeth and 10th with 1933 Federal Courthouse/ Post Office building.
Note the five business listed on the bottom.

Sam Perl became very well-known in the community and was honored with a street named after him which bridges the city of Brownsville to Matamoros.
