1965 "Village Of The Giants" theme - The Last Race by Jack Nitzsche
That's Beau Bridges and his surf buddies dancing for the lil people with a brief appearance by Johnny Crawford who played Mark on The Rifleman tv series. He visited Brownsville around 1968 or so and was in the Brownsville High School (which became Hannah High School later) newspaper. If anyone has a copy/scan of that send it to Brownsvilletrain@yahoo.com and I'll post it here. Ronny Howard (Opie on Andy Griffith Show) plays the kid "Genius" in the movie. It's one of those B-movie teenage rebellion type flicks. The film was loosely based on an H.G. Wells story "Food of the Gods" which was also made into a movie in 1976.

Jerry Reed - City Of New Orleans
Steve Goodman was performing in his native Chicago when Kris Kristofferson [born in Brownsville, Tex. like emoticon like emoticon ) discovered him. Arlo Guthrie made City of New Orleans famous when he recorded the song in 1972. ABC News show Good Morning America took its name from the lyrics of the chorus. Many artists also recorded the song. This version by Jerry Reed is a favorite.
