"Vicious and Negative" ~ Laguna Vista City Official Wants Your Sympathy

Wanda Reyes-Rice is on payroll of Rio Grande LNG as a public relations consultant.
There's a bit of a conflict of interest here dontcha think?

The Laguna Vista Town Council will consider a resolution opposing LNG Tuesday September 1 at 6:00pm at the Town Hall, 122 Fernandez Street.

Please arrive early to sign up to speak and because we know the pro-LNG employees and consultants will be coming. Please be respectful. It is especially important that residents of these communities speak up.

Copied from "SAVE RGV from LNG" Facebook page 0901 2015:
  • Yolanda Garza-Birdwell We the residents of Laguna Vista have to do a better job to question our elected officials. When i questioned Ms. Rice for her public support for LNG I was told " I was misinformed" All I know is that Ms. Rice first priority should be the residents of Laguna Vista and yes, she can support LNG's all she wants, but she cannot do both without being challanged to follow the proper procedures.
  • Patricia Salazar I will be sure to vote her out and if we all show upto the meeting tonight at 5:30 we can make a huge difference But please everybody please!!!!!!! Go tonight.
  • Kim Kirby RESIGN NOW!

  • Mary Helen Flores Laguna Vista residents could file a conflict of interest complaint against her with the DA. She can't use campaign or public office mailing lists to issue statements like this, even if she labels it a personal message. just a thought.

  • Don Hockaday The problem she has is that she kept quiet about it until she was busted. I hope Mayor Houston asks anybody who speaks to state their names, where they live, and what connections they have directly or indirectly with LNG or businesses that are likely to be impacted by these projects -- positively or negatively.
  • Mary Volz She's from SAN ANTONIO, ...

  • Babs Boudreaux Spoken like a true PR pro: "Nothing more than giant refrigerators" How can anyone be against "giant refrigerators? That's one of the many euphemisms LNG PR machine has used-- export facilities, terminals, warehouses-- to hide the Borg-like refineries that will virtually shut down the ship channel for miles around it while massive supertankers come in and out, loaded with highly explosive fuel to markets in Japan or China, making billions for in profit for OUT-OF-TOWN investors but leaving NOTHING for local residents except a few dozen jobs while our leaders think seriously about NOT TAXING them for 10 years? This lady from Laguna Vista and her cohorts apparently have done a great job to pull this con job this far. But surely at some point they had to know that this LIE was just too outrageous, too big to promote with a straight face. I would have had a higher opinion of Ms. Reyes Rice had she, instead of her lame "giant refrigerators" defense, done a Trump and said "Hey, that's how I make my living" then resign from her elected position. As it is now, it looks like Texas LNG hired her so she could use her position to promote/vote favorably on issues regarding LNGs. She needs to do the right thing and resign while she still has local customers who value our quality of life.
